SYNOPSIS
Every year, a city in the Brazilian interior holds a large and memorable festival – the Cavalhadas, a staging of a war between Moors (Reds) and Christians (Blues). Two rows of richly dressed knights, mounted on decorated horses, each representing one of the colors, stage the dispute that ends with the surrender of the Moors and everyone's congrats. One year, when the festival ends, the Reds and Blues do not end their disagreements and a war between them spreads throughout the region, generating violence, intolerance, deaths and persecution. The peasant Serapião gets involved with three girls whose families support different colors, who are murdered by knights of enemy colors. Desperate, Serapião tries to escape this war that grows more and more every day.

Kamal begins to discover his sexuality at a troubled time in his family. His older brothers begin to participate in student movements against AI-5, and in one of the marches, another brother is attacked and taken away by the police, creating an atmosphere of despair at home. Kamal begins to help the brothers in the search for the missing person and in the middle of the search he meets Jean, for whom he feels strong attraction. Kamal starts to meet Jean more and more, and in one of these encounters he is surprised by his brothers, who forcefully take him home and force him to open up about his sexuality to his parents.

She is asked about her fears and then reveals that in the past she was very afraid of fresh water, especially the Paranaíba River that divides the south of Goiás from the Minas Gerais triangle. When asked if this fear still prevailed, Anair recalls that she had recorded a conversation with Paranaíba where they resolved themselves. To satisfy the curiosity of those who interview her, she plays the tape and what we hear from then on is a dialogue between the young Anair and the Paranaíba River. Illustrating the narrative, during the film we watch different social and, sometimes, historical characters on the banks of the river, each with their own relationship with the waters.
